Hyères: A Modernisation Programme for Infrastructure and Services
The town benefits from Department support to renovate its roads, schools, and cultural and sports facilities.
The municipality is at the heart of an investment programme supported by the Département, aimed at modernising its infrastructure, securing its road network, and strengthening its social and cultural offering. From the Espace 3000 to cycle paths, including schools and archaeological sites, multiple structuring projects have been completed or are being deployed.
Cultural and heritage projects
One of the flagship projects concerns the rehabilitation of the Espace 3000. It benefited from a main subsidy of €1.3 million in 2025, supplemented by a proposed reallocation of €650,000 in 2026.
This latter sum was initially voted for the museum of the Olbia archaeological site, whose project will be reviewed to prioritise the renovation of work spaces.
Improving the school and sporting environment
The school environment has received special attention with the creation of "oasis schoolyards" in several schools (Costebelle, Les Mouettes, Françoise Dolto, Godillot) between 2022 and 2024, for a total amount exceeding €300,000.
Other significant projects include the renovation of the gymnase des Rougières, for over €2.1 million over 2022-2023, and the landscaping of the surroundings of the Anglican church for €650,000 in 2024.
Roads, a major focus of investments
The modernisation of roads is a major focus. The rehabilitation of the route de l'Almanarre (RD 559), under metropolitan project management, represents a budget of €4.6 million to redevelop an 850-metre section. The Département is financing this project to the tune of €900,000.
Several safety operations on the RD 559 have already been carried out since 2024, notably near the San Salvadour hospital and at various intersections, for a total of over €1.6 million.
Priority on active mobility
The development of active mobility is another priority, with the creation of a two-way cycle path along the avenue de l'Aéroport (€1 million). Added to this is the project to create multi-functional lanes on the RD 12 (€600,000), work on which begins in September.
Several other cycle link projects, notably on the route des Salins (RD 12) and the route des Loubes (RD 276), are under study despite significant technical and land constraints.
