Art at the heart of the life of Françoise Dedon

A painter born in Marseille, Françoise Dedon grew up in an environment where art was omnipresent. From a very young age, she was cradled by creativity.

Her childhood memories are marked by visits to museums and antique dealers alongside her collector grandmother, an experience that deeply influenced her artistic career.

A colorful journey

After moving to Var, she spent her childhood exploring Provençal landscapes, feeding her imagination by drawing mini-comics and drawing inspiration from fashion and advertising. Her sketches, stemming from her reading of Madame Figaro, bore witness to her desire to become a designer. However, it was painting that ultimately captured her heart.

Over the years, the artist exhibited her works in Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, while developing a passion for African art, influenced by a trip to Kenya. Her life then took her to Côte d'Ivoire, before returning to France where she juggled her artistic career and the family business.

After a break in her practice, it was thanks to her daughter that she rediscovered the art world. Museum visits and exhibitions, such as that of Jean Prouvé, revived her passion. She then began sketching hundreds of drawings, buying canvases and brushes, and painting relentlessly, while continuing to work.

Prestigious exhibition venues

Quickly, her work attracted attention on social media, allowing her to sell her works abroad, particularly in China and the United States.

The Hôtel Martinez exhibited her paintings during the Festival de Cannes, as did the Carrousel du Louvre.

Now, she owns her own gallery in Hyères. Her artistic research focuses on beauty, imagination, and a minimalist style, while maintaining a gentleness in her works. She aspires to create pieces that invite daydreaming, blending the dreamlike world with a thoughtful structure.
