Young Standard-Bearers Honored
In La Valette, young standard-bearers were rewarded for their commitment to passing on the duty of remembrance.
In La Valette-du-Var, young people are actively committing to preserving the duty of remembrance. Several young standard-bearers, members of the Comité d’entente des associations patriotiques (CEAP) chaired by Colonel (ER) Jacques Michaux, were recognized for their regular attendance and involvement in the commemorative ceremonies that punctuate the life of the municipality.
Official Recognition
At the initiative of the La Valette-du-Var committee of the Souvenir Français, driven by its president Jean Paul Arnaud, a ceremony was organized to honor this civic commitment. The young volunteers received an official diploma as well as the association's metal insignia, reflecting the community's gratitude for their dedication.
The event took place in a solemn setting, in the presence of the young recipients' families, who came to share this moment of pride. Julien Argento, mayor of La Valette-du-Var, accompanied by several elected officials, was present, as were representatives of local patriotic organizations, notably the board of the CEAP, the Service Réserve Jeunesse of the gendarmerie du Var, and Histoire et Patrimoine de la Gendarmerie (ACSPMG), represented by its president Nicolas Moulin.

This mobilization illustrated the importance given by the town to training a new civic generation. By carrying the flag, these young people become active participants in commemorations. Their presence alongside veterans and association members serves as a bridge between generations, ensuring the torch of memory is passed on.

Among the honored youth, Ethan's path stood out. In addition to his role as a standard-bearer for the ACSPMG, he is a cadet of the Gendarmerie du Var. This dual commitment illustrates the variety of pathways open to young people to take an active part in civic life and serve Republican values.
