On June 5, the prize-giving ceremony for the Concours des Espaces fleuris took place in the garden of the Villa Jeanne.

Amateur gardeners rewarded

As every year, the awards honored the commitment and imagination of amateur gardeners.

Several categories were rewarded: houses with gardens visible from the street, floral decorations set up in public spaces, balconies and terraces, as well as hotels, businesses, buildings, schools, and municipal facilities.

A collective approach to biodiversity

Beyond the competition, this initiative reflects a collective approach aimed at improving the residents' living environment while promoting the preservation of biodiversity. At their level, residents and green spaces agents contribute to creating environments favorable to pollinating insects.

On this occasion, Patrice Racca was congratulated for her forty years of service within the municipal green spaces.

Objective: the fourth flower

For her part, Hélène Arnaud-Bill, the first magistrate, recalled the municipality's possibility of applying for a fourth flower in the Villes et Villages Fleuris label.

“When aiming for the fourth flower, the entire living environment is taken into account: urban developments, public spaces, landscaping choices, and even the harmony of colors. This requires preparing highly comprehensive files,” explained the mayor of La Garde.

Everyone's involvement

In reality, the town's flowering relies on everyone's involvement. The commitment of the Gardéens was also enthusiastically praised by the first magistrate: “Your participation is important, and every year, more and more of you get involved. Daycare centers, schools, and senior residences contribute to this collective dynamic. The youngest also play an essential role because our little citizens show real commitment within their schools.”
