La Valette-du-Var was decked out in pink for the annual breast cancer screening awareness campaign. Throughout October and until November 1st, local associations mobilized through a multitude of sporting, cultural, and convivial events.

All donations and proceeds collected during these initiatives will be donated to the Ligue contre le cancer, reaffirming the municipality's solidary commitment.

A wide range of sports activities

Sport was at the heart of this mobilization. Boxing Club Méditerranée hosted open doors where each €1 class was donated to the cause, while Karaté Club Valettois organized its solidarity hike on October 3.

The weekend of October 10 and 11 was packed. UAV Basket organized two home matches at the COSEC gymnasium, featuring a raffle and a fund for Octobre Rose. On the same Saturday, Song Phuong club led a solidarity self-defense class at the Santoni-Daudet gymnasium.

On October 17, it was handball's turn with the Nationale 2 match of La Valette Handball. Later in the month, the VAL club set up a gymnastics course from October 19 to 23, and UAV Volley-Ball offered a tournament on October 25.

The highlight of this sporting dynamic was the Eco Valet’Trail, organized by ASPTT Athlétisme on November 1st, featuring four courses (6, 13, 18, and 25 km). For each bib sold, €2 was donated.

Dance, culture, and well-being

The mobilization extended beyond sports fields. The APCV association held a grand bingo on October 10 at Salle Valérie Garnier. The next day, Espace Pierre-Bel vibrated to the sound of the country dance by Always Dance Country.

Well-being was also featured with a yoga class by Hatha Yoga et Bien-être on October 14. On October 17, the Chambadalala association provided musical entertainment, with snack sale profits going to Octobre Rose.

Dance lovers were not left out with a kizomba evening organized by Kizaddiktacademy on October 24, followed by a major Zumba Party, hosted by Sport’s Danse & Le Jour se Lève, on October 25.

Some initiatives were long-term, such as that of Archers Valettois, who set up an "Octobre Rose Target" throughout the month to collect donations. Meanwhile, the Sportez-vous bien association ran an information booth on sports and health at the town's Utile store.

This month of solidarity concluded on November 1st, on Place Général de Gaulle, with the presentation of the check compiling all funds raised to the Ligue contre le cancer.
