"Our duty is to reaffirm our support for the police"
For National Police Day, a tribute ceremony was held on July 10 in Toulon in the presence of the prefect and elected officials.

The Direction Interdépartementale de la Police nationale (DIPN) commemorated National Police Day during an official ceremony. Presided over by the prefect of the Var, this event gathered all police services of the department for a strong moment of cohesion and remembrance, in the presence of several elected officials, including MPs Stéphane Rambaud and Laure Lavalette.
This national day was an opportunity to pay solemn tribute to the police officers who died in the line of duty. This moment of remembrance thus honored their sacrifice and showed the Nation's support for their families.
The ceremony also served to salute the many officers injured in the line of duty, whose daily commitment illustrates the risks inherent to their mission of protecting citizens.
Courage and dedication
The MP for the 3rd constituency of Var, Stéphane Rambaud, who took part in this tribute, recalled: "Alongside my colleague Laure Lavalette, we laid a wreath in tribute to the police officers fallen in the line of duty and to all those who serve France with courage and dedication."
The parliamentarian reaffirmed his support for the law enforcement forces and explained the position of his political group regarding current security challenges: "This ceremony was an opportunity to pay tribute to the women and men who, every day, ensure the safety of our fellow citizens with courage, professionalism, and dedication, often risking their lives. Faced with rising violence and the challenges they confront, our duty is to show them our gratitude and to reaffirm our unwavering support. My political group will continue to advocate for a policy of firmness, reinforced resources, and respect for authority, so that our police officers can accomplish their mission under the best conditions. Thank you to all police officers for their commitment to the service of France and the French people."
Beyond the duty of remembrance
This annual event also aimed to promote the police institution and to highlight the diversity of its missions, whether protecting people and property, fighting crime, or maintaining public order.
It was an opportunity to strengthen the bond between the police and the population, highlighting the dedication of the officers working in the territory.
