Launch of the summer season

The beach of l’Ayguade in Hyères served as the setting, on July 17, for the launch of the summer season of the Centre de Loisirs Jeunes (CLJ) of the Police nationale.

The event took place in the presence of many prominent figures, including Stéphane Rambaud, member of parliament for Var, Véronique Bernardini, mayor of Hyères, Simon Babre, prefect of Var, and Maxime Driard, police commissioner.

Elected officials, associative and institutional partners were also gathered for this highly anticipated summer program for local youth. This initiative, implemented under the Contrat de Ville, is primarily aimed at teenagers aged 11 to 17, particularly those living in priority neighborhoods.

It aims to offer a wide range of activities throughout the summer designed to promote their personal development and civic integration.

A tool for prevention and integration

The CLJ positions itself well beyond a simple leisure structure. It is designed as a pillar of public policies for prevention, education, and support for youth.

By offering a structuring space, it combines discovery, learning, and sharing with respect for republican values.

Much more than a simple leisure center, the CLJ of the Police nationale is a tool for prevention and social cohesion. Through sports, cultural, civic, and outdoor activities, the program develops self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, and team spirit in young people. The focus is on social diversity and learning the rules of community life, essential elements of living together.

Establishing a lasting relationship of trust

One of the missions of the initiative is to consolidate relations between youth, their families, and republican institutions, chief among them the Police nationale. The moments of meeting and dialogue with the supervising police officers are at the heart of the project, fostering better mutual understanding.

This proximity, based on dialogue, respect, and pedagogy, is an essential lever for preventing risky behaviors and encouraging civic engagement. By demystifying the uniform and establishing a lasting relationship of trust, the CLJ helps ease tensions and strengthen the republican pact within the communities.

The success of a collaboration

The success of this initiative relies on the commitment of national police officers trained in youth mentoring, but also on a strong network of partners.

Institutions, educational, cultural, and sports associations collaborate to offer quality activities in a safe and supportive environment.

Every year, hundreds of young people benefit from this program, finding reference points and opportunities for their future.
