The La Vague Classique festival is preparing to once again enchant the Var coast for its 2026 edition, taking place from May 23 to September 20. For nearly four months, the town of Six-Fours-les-Plages will vibrate to the rhythm of 28 concerts spread across five of its iconic venues, from the Maison du Cygne to the Saint-Pierre collegiate church. Placed under the banner of excellence, this new season promises a rich program, combining renowned international figures with promising young talents, along with incursions into jazz and opera.
A prestigious opening
The kickoff was given this Saturday, May 23, at the Maison du Cygne with an evening dedicated to 17th-century Italian masters, led by the voice of the famous countertenor Philippe Jaroussky and his Ensemble Artaserse. The following day, May 24, the public will discover pianist Bruce Liu, First Prize winner of the prestigious Chopin Competition in 2021, in a recital blending Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel, and Liszt.
The second weekend will confirm the high standards of the programming with pianist Tanguy de Williencourt in a program entirely dedicated to Beethoven on May 29. On May 30, violinist Renaud Capuçon, accompanied by young soloists, will perform Schubert's 'Trout' Quintet and Saint-Saëns' famous 'The Carnival of the Animals', with the exceptional participation of journalist Laurence Ferrari as narrator.
Big names and the young generation
The season will be punctuated by highlights, with the presence of great artists from the international scene. Gautier Capuçon, the festival's patron, will be present for several dates, notably June 15 and 16, where he will highlight laureates from his foundation, reaffirming the festival's commitment to youth. Other highly anticipated concerts include pianist Nikolaï Luganski (June 14), harpist Xavier de Maistre in a duo with actor Lambert Wilson (June 17), soprano Patricia Petibon (July 19) with Jean-Christophe Spinosi's Ensemble Matheus, or mezzo-soprano Karine Deshayes (July 23).

This edition is part of an assertive effort toward cultural democratization.
For this 2026 edition, and as I had committed, I wanted La Vague Classique to retain what constitutes its identity and strength: the excellence of the artists, the space given to youth, and the determination to open classical music to as many people as possible

This ambition translates concretely into a pricing offer ranging from 10 to 50 euros and the organization of eight free concerts, upon reservation.
Beyond the concerts
The La Vague Classique festival enriches its offering with several side events. The public will be able to attend free lectures hosted by musicologist Monique Dautemer, open-air cinema screenings at the Villa Simone, or discover the photography exhibition 'Cinema Icons' by Douglas Kirkland, which retraces half a century of Hollywood cinema. Highlights with the Fondation Gautier Capuçon, including a round table and musical strolls, are also on the program, strengthening the bonds between artists and the public.
