A star-studded lineup for the 'Virtuoses sous les étoiles' festival
The 4th edition of the 'Virtuoses sous les étoiles' festival gathers great classical music names until July 20.
Supported by the association Prélude et Crescendo, the 'Virtuoses sous les étoiles' festival has established itself in four years as an essential summer event for classical music lovers.
From June 14 to July 20, the chapelle Sainte-Anne du Castellet hosts exceptional performers for a series of five concerts in an intimate and historic setting.
The event, supported by the Mairie du Castellet and private partners, promises memorable evenings, combining artistic excellence and conviviality.
A rich program
On Sunday, July 12, an evening dedicated to Mozart highlights his famous Clarinet Concerto, performed by soloist Alain Geng, as well as the Piano Concerto No. 23, with Olivier Lechardeur.
Thursday, July 16 is dedicated to chamber music, featuring two masterpieces of the Romantic repertoire: the piano quintets of Robert Schumann and Antonín Dvořák.
The following day, Friday, July 17, the audience will attend a recital by the duo formed by violinist Patrice Fontanarosa and pianist Stéphanie Fontanarosa, performing pieces by Tartini, Beethoven, and Franck.
Finally, the closing concert on Sunday, July 20, offers a carte blanche to world-renowned violinist Régis Pasquier. Accompanied by the Orchestre des Virtuoses, he proposes a sumptuous program including concertos by Bach and Vivaldi, notably the famous Concerto for Four Violins, as well as the virtuosic Havanaise by Saint-Saëns.
Internationally renowned artists
The strength of the festival lies in the exceptional quality of its artistic lineup. Régis Pasquier, a Victoire de la musique winner and professor at the Conservatoire de Paris for over 25 years, is one of the major figures of the French violin. He has collaborated with the greatest conductors, from Leonard Bernstein to Seiji Ozawa.
Patrice Fontanarosa, also a Victoire de la musique winner, leads a brilliant career as an international soloist and was concertmaster of the Orchestre National de France.
Alongside them, the audience will find prestigious musicians such as Philip Bride, concertmaster of the Orchestre de chambre de Paris for over forty years, and Jean-Éric Thirault, artistic director of the festival and principal cellist of the Orchestre Philharmonique de l’Opéra de Marseille.
The Orchestre des Virtuoses, created specifically for the event, brings together soloists and musicians from the largest ensembles in the région Sud, united by a shared passion for live music.
