Yves Palmiéri: 'Here, summer is lived together'
The town of La Farlède has unveiled its rich 2026 summer programme, blending concerts, sport, culture and popular traditions.
It is under the banner of sharing and conviviality that the municipality launched its summer season. In the editorial of the festivities guide, the mayor Yves Palmieri, also president of the Communauté de communes de la Vallée du Gapeau, sets the tone for a summer designed to strengthen ties between residents.
“With the return of fine weather, La Farlède rediscovers what makes its identity: a lively, warm town focused on sharing,” stressed Yves Palmieri.
The latter invites the Farlédois to enjoy a dense programme, designed to bring all generations together. “I invite you to enjoy these moments of sharing, to gather with family, friends or neighbours, and to make this summer a time of discovery, joy and memories.”
THE MAJOR EVENTS
The month of July is marked by the 4th edition of the regional tour “Ça, c'est le Sud”, which stopped over on 3 July. Presented by Jean-Philippe Doux, the show brought together Julie Zenatti and Le Chœur du Sud on stage.
The rest of the month is paced by numerous evenings on the place de la Liberté: open-air cinema (8 July), country evening (11 July), humorous dinner-show with Les Cigalons (13 July, booking required), rock tribute concert to the Beatles and Rolling Stones (17 July), giant karaoke (22 July) and a concert by the group Natema as part of the “Voix départementales” (24 July).
In August, the festivities continue with a rock evening tribute to Elvis Presley on 1 August. On Friday 21 August, the town commemorates its liberation with a parade of vintage military vehicles, a patriotic ceremony and a dinner evening hosted by the Swing Delirium jazz band (booking required).
Finally, an intercommunal photographic exhibition, “Les couleurs du Sud dans la Vallée du Gapeau” is running until 23 August at the media library.
A programme already dense in June
From 9 to 13 June, the Eurêka media library offered a “Zen est sain” week dedicated to well-being, with free workshops in sophrology, yoga, and talks on nutrition.
Traditions were also in the spotlight with the Fête de la Saint-Jean (from 19 to 23 June). It began with a concert by the Orchestre Fiesta Latina, followed by a dance school gala on 20 June and the Fête de la musique on 21 June, with a concert by the group Popcorn Music.
The highlight was the evening of 23 June, with the distribution of paper lanterns and the torchlight procession led by the fiery parade “La Route de Jade”.
