Hyères, La Londe-les-Maures and Bormes-les-Mimosas rewarded with the Quality of Life Label

In the region, two municipalities joined the 4 Fleurs labeled towns, namely La Londe-les-Maures and Mandelieu-la-Napoule (Alpes-Maritimes). And, two municipalities maintained their 4th Fleur (Hyères-les-Palmiers and Bormes-les-Mimosas). "The 4th Fleur, the label's level of excellence, distinguishes communities that integrate nature into a global project combining living environment, biodiversity, heritage, sustainable management and citizen participation. Finally, the municipality of Bormes-les-Mimosas received the "Prix national de l’attractivité touristique". This award highlighted the municipalities that make plants a lever of influence by combining a diversity of offers (sustainable tourism, nature, culture), with the enhancement of local expertise and the promotion of their territory to visitors," recalls François de Canson, president of the Comité Régional de Tourisme (CRT).

TOURIST OFFER

Thus, in Bormes-les-Mimosas, the jury praised the maturity of the territory, its capacity to structure a coherent, sustainable and balanced tourist offer. One of the strong points is the desire to develop "four-season" tourism, making it possible to distribute flows throughout the year and avoid summer overconcentration. This approach is reflected in developments such as green parking lots on the outskirts, the creation of the Jardin du Mimosa or the redevelopment of the place du Pin, praised for its successful integration into the urban landscape. The other decisive element is the municipality's tourist communication, designed from a plant-based perspective. For elected officials, nature is not just a backdrop, it is a thread. Botanical trails, dedicated events, enhancement of local species, integrated street furniture, choice of plantings adapted to coastal constraints, everything contributes to an environmentally friendly experience. Furthermore, the jury appreciated that this approach is integrated into the territory's promotion strategy. Finally, this recognition salutes a comprehensive tourism strategy, incorporating quality approaches (Accueil Vélo, Qualité Tourisme...), environmental awareness (LPO, Charte Pelagos, Port Propre...) and attention paid to the aesthetics and sustainability of the developments.

The Quality of Life prize list "Villes & Villages Fleuris" in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur distinguishes 264 municipalities. More than 80% of the inhabitants live in a labeled municipality. This label, a symbol of quality of life and respect for the environment, is particularly appreciated by residents. 86% of the region's inhabitants believe that it is "important" to live in a labeled municipality. In addition, labels play a role in the choice of tourist destinations. 30% of tourists state that labels influence their choice of destination. This shows the importance of these distinctions in attracting visitors and promoting the region.
