As the waves of the Mediterranean lap the fine sand of the coastline, La Londe-les-Maures experiences an intense cultural season.
Far from being just a postcard-style animation, La Londe-les-Maures has built, over the years, a strong artistic identity, driven by events of national and international scope, while maintaining a popular grounding. From the pine forests of l'Argentière to the quays of the port Miramar, summer is synonymous with sharing, music, and remembrance.
La Londe Jazz Festival, the jewel of the summer
The jewel of this programming remains without a doubt La Londe Jazz Festival, which celebrated its 17th edition from July 30 to August 2, taking over the magical setting of the plage de l'Argentière.
This event has retained its unique DNA by offering a demanding programming in a free format. Alongside the major concerts, the famous "apéros-jazz" allowed festival-goers to combine the pleasures of the mind with those of the local terroir, thanks to tastings offered by the winemakers of AOC Côtes de Provence - La Londe.
Le Festival des Oliviers and its intimate concerts
But, cultural life is not limited to this jazz festival. Throughout the summer, the Municipalité deploys a varied offer, notably with the Festival des Oliviers, nestled under the bandstand of the Jardin des Oliviers.
Every Tuesday evening, this green setting becomes the theater for intimate and varied concerts, oscillating between pop-rock, Celtic music, acoustic tributes, and lyric opera recitals.
« Ça c’est le Sud ! » at port Miramar
On August 16, lovers of popular shows enjoyed the famous regional tour "Ça c'est le Sud!", orchestrated by the Comité Régional de Tourisme and François de Canson, its president. For one evening, the port Miramar was transformed into a huge open-air stage with nearly 100 musicians and performers, and thousands of spectators.
Commemoration and tradition for the Liberation Day
Finally, the highlight of the summer festivities combined local tradition and historical commemoration on August 17 during the Liberation Day.
The event included an official ceremony presided over by the mayor, a parade of vintage military vehicles on avenue Georges-Clemenceau, and the replica of a World War II camp set up at the Baie des Isles by the association Provence 44.
